one of the oldest tattoo studios in Pittsburgh, and actually in all of Pennsylvania, has a long and storied history in the great city we call home. We have been tattooing the great people of our region for over 35 years, and have always been at the forefront of quality, cleanliness, and dedication to our craft. Just ask your friends your neighbors, your mailman... you will no doubt find someone we have tattooed. Our work has stood head and shoulders above the rest in the area, all ways done cleaner, more solid and bright, and with more longevity. From top to bottom, we approach tattooing the way it IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE. We cut no corners, take no shortcuts. Our tattoos stand the test of time, and ten or even twenty years down the road, you will see the difference our approach makes.
For years, our founder and friend, Craig Helmich, was known throughout the area for his intricate detail, clean line work, and solid, bright color... Today, artist/owner Jim Allchin, keep’s the tradition alive, applying solid, bright tattoos, that make people stop and take notice.
Jim's ultra-detailed Color Realism and Traditional Island-style Tribal, Japanese style, and Smooth Black and Gray work, or whatever style you are looking for, we’ve got you covered! Please visit Jim’s Gallery to view his vast range of talents.
We approach every tattoo to suit the individual who will be wearing it. No cookie-cutter stuff here! Of course, we have a huge array of designs and reference material for our clients to browse through, and use for inspiration for us to create the perfect piece just for them... We also welcome you to bring in your own reference, printed copies or sketches work MUCH better than that little picture on your phone!)
We work 100% single-service, which means that our clients NEVER have to worry about a thing when it comes to cleanliness! All equipment is autoclave sterilized, and individually packaged. Our in-house autoclave is tested regularly by an independent third-party to ensure proper operation. All needles, inks, etc., are used once, and once alone. Same goes for all gloves, ointments, cleaning towels, etc... We follow the same strict standards when it comes to our piercing as well. We go the extra mile for you, because we want to see you happy and healthy!
We work by appointment, but are happy to take walk-ins when time permits on a first-come, first served basis. It's generally a good idea to call ahead to check on availability if you are thinking of coming in as a walk-in. Appointments require a deposit to hold time, so please stop by the shop to make your appointment; this is especially important in the case of custom work as we need to see what we will be doing so we can get an estimate of how much time to book for you. Your deposit will be applied to the cost of the tattoo when you get it! For our out-of-town clients, please call or email the shop and we can discuss the possibility of working on your design via email upon receipt of a mailed-in deposit.
Any other questions, please don't hesitate to call or stop by!
